A teacup named Resilience?

Resilience is a funny thing, when you think you don’t have it, somewhere deep inside you a special force starts growing with every setback

A teacup named Resilience? Sounds woolly...or not?

The very first teacup model I made was a classic model teacup. A model originated probably from the 17th or 18th century. Surprising enough it is still one of the most popular models after all these years. You easily can say this teacup showed a tremendous resilience through the ages.

A cozy scene featuring a cup of tea on a saucer, a glass teapot filled with brewed tea, a green candle with a flame, and a decorative fish figure with a crown set against a teal wall.

This classic teacup is also my very first teacup, a starting point for my project 77Teacups. I made the basic form already years ago. It stands for my growing resilience after an accident 17 years ago. That’s why it’s named resilience, remembering me of my resilience. Also to remind YOU in those moments of setback, when it feels life is against you. You have resilience, more than you know, it grows with you when you need it.

In my project 77Teacups every teacup is named after a special meaning of 77. Maybe woolly, but also with both feet on the ground. Grounded in every moment you need this teacup to remind you of your resilience.

From today starting to share my story of #77Teacups. From the elegant classic teacup to the modern giant mug and everything in between. Reflecting contemporary tea habits.

77 has a special meaning in many cultures and religions. This number imagines {among other things} Resilience, Intuition, Awakening, Perfection, Life Essence. It symbolizes the magic that can arise during tea drinking.

In almost all cultures, tea drinking is surrounded by small rituals and togetherness. Drinking tea together invites conversation, listening to each other, and connecting – something we desperately need in these times.
